Easter Liturgy

What a beautiful Liturgy about the Easter Story.
Here are the guards carrying Jesus` body to the tomb.

Junior Team singing their song- 123 Jesus is alive!

The beautiful ladies that went to visit Jesus` tomb.

This Term we started our RE lessons by learning about the Easter Story. As part of our concept we will also be covering drama this term and using music for effect. The Junior Team practised daily for a play that I wrote about Easter. I also found a very catchy little song that we all learnt well. Through the daily participation and active involvement, each student was clearly able to retell the Easter Story.
It was very real to them. We selected marching music for the soldiers and sad music for the mourners. The music clearly provided the correct sound effects and created a very real atmosphere in the hall.
Learning was far more meaningful than just hearing about the story in the class. Students also learnt many acting strategies, such as always facing the audience, making space for all to be seen, working hard and rehearsing continuously and how to project their voices so that everyone can hear them. It was a beautiful Liturgy of which I am very proud.
